Two weeks ago, we reported that a large chunk of the first wave of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Re-Ignition was showing up both in stores and online on Walmart's website. If you would like to see all our past articles on Power Rangers, then click here.

I recently received the 6 Pack of the Re-Ignition basic figures. The set arrived from Walmart's website still in the shipper carton directly from Playmates.

The presentation that Playmates has created with this 6 Pack is absolutely amazing and stunning. My hope is that should they continue on to other Power Rangers teams, I hope they continue to release whole teams in box sets like this one, it makes very convenient for parents to give the whole team to their kids or for collectors to collect the entire team for their favorite seasons.

6 Pack Outer Carton and Package

The outer carton of the 6 Pack (not the white shipper carton) has all six of the Mighty Morphin helmets on the front with the Re-Ignition logo in the center at the top. The top of the outer carton is pretty bare bones; it just has the Re-Ignition logo with green lightning behind it. The sides of the outer carton has some amazing photos of the six Mighty Morphin team with the Re-Ignition logo and green lightning behind everything.

Once you open the outer carton though, you are greeted with a neatly packed interior. The Rangers are situated left to right, Yellow Ranger, Black Ranger, Red Ranger, Green Ranger, Blue Ranger, and Pink Ranger (this may differ between each set).

Red Ranger

First, we'll take a look at his individual package, and I have to say that I am an absolute fan of the packaging for the individual Rangers. It keeps the same motif as the rest of the line's packaging with the Red Ranger's helmet down the left side but this time it wraps around the side and to the back. The top has this nice color gradient going from red to a charcoal while the inner tray has some nice light green lightning and a lined pattern that is very reminiscent of the vintage 1993 packaging and along the bottom, we have just the text "Red Ranger" with the three white chest diamonds below that.

The rear of the packaging is just as visually striking as the front, if not more, and as I said before, the helmet wraps around to the rear. The rear of the packaging has that same color gradient though this time flipped, the Re-Ignition logo, "Red Ranger" text and the white chest diamonds all along the bottom. In the middle is a that same light green lined pattern set behind a bio that reads:

"The leader of the team, Jason spends much of his time working out new martial arts skills to use when things get rough. As a Power Ranger, Jason draws his power from his Dinozord - the Tyrannosaurus. His signature weapon is the Power Sword and he pilots the Megazord!"

Name: Jason Lee Scott

Skill Set: Martial Arts (Black Belt)

Personality: Natural Leader

Weapons: Power Sword, Blade Blaster

Dinozord: Tyrannosaurus

Finally, at the bottom, is a beautiful action pose of the Red Ranger with that same light green lightning behind her. I personally would have made the lightning on the individual Rangers' packaging match their colors but regardless, it's beautiful.

Moving on to the figure itself, the Red Ranger comes packaged with both forms of the Blade Blaster and his Power Sword. She can hold any of her included accessories in either of her hands, you may have to pull open the hands some to make them fit, but she's made out a decently flexible plastic so the hands will just reform back to it's previous shape pretty easily.

Quality wise, it's an amazing figure but it's not without it's fault and every figure in this set will have that same nitpick from me and that nitpick is they missed paint detail on each helmet, specifically the eyes of each Zord on each Rangers' helmet. They also didn't paint the Power Coin gold on the Morpher, which again these are minor nitpicks, but each Ranger is missing those paint details.

Red Ranger Comparison

This version of the Red Ranger fits in very nicely with previous versions from Bandai but obviously the Hasbro Lightning Collection and other 6 to 7 Inch scale figures will be much taller; this includes the vintage Bandai figures and the Hasbro Auto-Morphin figures as well.

Where this figure fits in nicely is the 4-to-5-inch Bandai figures like the 2010 MMPR line or any of the later Bandai basic figures from shows like Megaforce and Super Megaforce. I luckily do own a Super Megaforce Red Ranger and as you can see, he scales decently with that figure as well.

All in all, this a very nice figure. I didn't have any issues with stiff joints or even loose joints, 100% solid figure.

Black Ranger

It keeps the same motif as the rest of the line's packaging with the Black Ranger's helmet down the left side but this time it wraps around the side and to the back. The top has this nice color gradient going from black and purple to a charcoal while the inner tray has some nice light green lightning and a lined pattern that is very reminiscent of the vintage 1993 packaging and along the bottom, we have just the text "Black Ranger" with the three white chest diamonds below that.

"Zack combines his love of dance and martial arts to form his unique Hip-Hop-Kido fighting style. Though courageous, he will often act as the voice of caution when a situation is unclear or dangerous. His signature weapon is the Power Axe. As a Power Ranger, Zack draws power from the Mastodon Dinozord."

Name: Zack Taylor

Skill Set: Martial Arts, Dance

Personality: Courageous

Weapons: Power Axe, Blade Blaster

Dinozord: Mastodon

Moving on to the figure itself, the Blue Ranger comes packaged with both forms of the Blade Blaster and his Power Axe. He can hold any of his included accessories in either of his hands, you may have to pull open the hands some to make them fit, but he's made out a decently flexible plastic so the hands will just reform back to it's previous shape pretty easily.

Black Ranger Comparison

Like the previous Rangers, he fits insanely well in with the 4-to-5-inch Bandai figures, like the ones from the 2010 MMPR, Megaforce, and Super Megaforce lines. I do own a 2010 MMPR Black Ranger, which you can see he scales nicely with.

Also, like the all the other Rangers, he doesn't really scale well with the Playmates Auto-Morphin figure or the Hasbro Lightning Collection and while I don't own the Super7 or Hasbro Lightning Collection Blue Ranger, I can tell you that he wouldn't scale with the Super7 figures since they are all a 7-inch scale and the Hasbro Lightning Collection are all 6-inch scale. But to be fair, the Hasbro Lighting Collection and Super 7 Ultimates toy lines are more adult oriented, so that can be forgive since the Playmates toy line is meant to be first and foremost, a kids toy line.

Regardless of any nitpicks I have with this figure; it's a great figure with good articulation that can be used to fill a gap in your collection and unlike the Pink Ranger, this figure didn't have any stiff joints. I highly suggest picking this 6 Pack up and I'm sure I will say that multiple times across the future reviews as well.
