Hey everyone! Retlaw here with another modern review, this time we're taking a look at Transformers Studio Series 86 Core Class Ironhide.
Like the G1 Retro Kickback re-issue, I picked this little guy up from my local Ollie's Bargain Outlet and he was priced at $4.99 plus tax.
I love the Core Class figures, they're some of the best figures that have been put out in recent years, and I love the cartoon accuracy of this Ironhide in particular.
Packaging
So, like with all the Studio Series figures and all Transformers lately, Ironhide comes packaged in robot mode. The little box he comes in is a very stout box; a good thick cardboard was used. He is lacking a clear plastic window as this figure was produced during the time that Hasbro was trying to do away with them.
The front of the box has some great artwork of Ironhide repelling the Decepticon attack on the Autobot Shuttle (or at least attempting to anyway) at the top. The side of the box has a close up shot of that same artwork, but the rear of the box has product shots of Ironhide in both his robot and vehicle forms.

Robot Mode
Once you open the box, his inner tray slides out and is supposed to act like a small diorama for him. He has some pretty good articulation, ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders, hinged elbows, ball jointed hips, and ball jointed knees.
He also comes with his twin blasters and because of his articulation, you can get some pretty good poses out of him.

Vehicle Form:
This is where I start having complaints about the figure, his vehicle form. It has some major gapping issues with the top of the van not wanting to sit flush and very visible seams where the shoulders meet the cab. He does include slots on the side of the van where you can peg his twin blasters in.

All in all, he's a solid figure and for the $4.99 that I paid for him, I can't complain. The gapping in vehicle form is really just a nitpick, especially since I likely will never display him as such.
He's a great little bot for the desk and I highly suggest grabbing him, if you would like to grab one of your own just follow my link to Amazon: https://amzn.to/3TCimbN
